As a residential/commercial mortgage brokerage that serves diverse customers & mortgages associates in Canada we have a social purpose to support the empowerment of women through financial independence, educational training & small business support.

Susan Mercer-Thornhill is a Brokerage Owner/Mortgage Broker with a Masters of Social Work and 35 years of social work experience which includes post-secondary education and career planning, employment, health, transitional housing, child welfare, criminal justice, community-based programs to children, youth and families, immigrants and newcomers to Canada, First Nations, Metis, Inuit, and individuals with a disability.

As 2020-2021 Toastmaster of the Year Susan has volunteered at Toastmasters International weekly meetings, competed and chaired at club level contests, served on the Club Executive as Sergeant-at-Arms, Division Level Guest Speaker and is currently C03 Area Director, Club Sponsor & Club Mentor with new Toastmasters International clubs.
Diversity Mortgage is led by a dynamic female entrepreneur that recognizes the financial landscape is changing. Women of diverse backgrounds, participate more actively in their financial wellbeing and asset development but still encounter the need for increased flexibility. Our goal is to support women both as mortgage associates and as customers to build their financial futures.

Through the early phase of their business development women with Diversity Mortgage & Financial Corporation will receive customized business training, mortgage specific training, how to start and operate a successful mortgage brokerage where they live in Canada through online learning platforms or in-person opportunities. Their business structure fits their life style choice (Independent, co-team, part-time, full-time)
